DATA COLLECTION AND DATA ANALYSIS
Week 10
I started planning out my data collection methods. I wanted to do a qualitative and a quantitative method.
My initial plan was to observe games from 6 different game genres which were: First-person shooter, Simulation, Role-playing, Fighting, Survival and sports. However, Dr Hayati said that it was too many and the genres I listed out were ones that I’m not particularly familiar with (sports, fighting, survival). She advised me to narrow it down to 3 that I’m familiar with. So I chose Simulation, Role-playing and First person shooter.

I also began working on the questionnaire. I made about 10 questions in total.
I shared this in gaming forums and also among friends who are experienced in playing games.
Week 11
I finished my quantitative data collection by observing three games. I took down some notes while I was playing the games and wrote down all the available customization options. I also mentioned the special options that certain games have and the others did not.
