REFLECTION
Experiences
Thanks to the knowledge I gained from semester 1, I didn't struggle as much as I used to in terms of coming up with new layout ideas. I also have a better idea of what the lecturers expect from us, it's a more comfortable class atmosphere overall. It doesn't feel as limiting as before, we have much more freedom to design and explore how we want. While it was stressful at times, but the end results were quite satisfying.
Observations
We're much more involved in class activities than the previous semester. Since we have to do our own presentations and research about the topic instead of having it spoon fed to us by the teachers. It's interesting to see my classmates improve throughout the course of 14 weeks, especially with their compositions.
Findings
I've realised that the purpose and meaning behind a typographic design should be held in a higher regard, and that we shouldn't always look at the aesthetic side of it. This encouraged me to be more critical of my own designs. From my exercises, I also learned that I shouldn't only find inspiration from browsing online, but in everyday objects as well.
