EXERCISES
Week 1: Exercise 1
For our first class, we were given a series of shapes to trace using the pen tool in illustrator to create our "vormator". The rules were that we couldn't stretch the shapes or change the overall design, we could only resize it.
I made a simple character with a cute sad expression. I realised that if I combined "the cobra", "the tentacle" and "the wurst" I could make a long tentacle as they each have a similar curvy figure.
Today, we focused on the perspectives of 3D objects and how the sides could look different depending on which angle it is positioned. We had to draw the shapes using a pen while we used a marker to shade the sides according to where the lightest and darkest parts are.
Our assignment of the week was to shade two robots according to where the sun is hitting and infer where the shadows are.
Week 3: Exercise 3
This time, instead of using markers to shade, we learned how to shade digital shapes using illustrator.
We were given a picture of a pear to trace and we had to add our own shadows. Additionally we had to cut it out and show the inside of it as well.
Week 4: Exercise 4
During class we were tasked to draw different character expressions according to the ones that Mr Redzwan showed.
Then, we had to draw two pages of our own character expressions.
Week 5: Exercise 5
This week, we had to get our vormators properly colored and shaded. After that we had to print them out at Fab Space in Bukit Bintang.

Week 6: Exercise 6
We had to use drawing tablets for this lesson. Mr Redzwan taught us how to make our own custom preset brushes. For the first attempt, we based it off a splatter texture.
I then attempted to make my own using another splatter texture.
I made a quick drawing based on the brush I made. I quite like the texture it created.
For today's class, we started off with a brief exercise on drawing cross hatching lines.
After that we had to recreate this picture of a pear using either cross hatching or the brush we made in the previous week.
Here's my version using a brush I made:
I then proceeded to test out other custom brushes using textures I found:
Week 8
There was no class this week, however, we were tasked to make a 5 act structure based on a blockbuster movie. I decided to do mine based on Kingsman: The Secret Service.
